If you’re experiencing a medical issue, please contact a healthcare professional or dial 911 immediately. As we mentioned above, some people also develop canker sores from the sharp edges on the trays. If you start noticing pain or feeling that the inside of your mouth is raw, try gently sanding down these sharp edges or using dental wax to cover the edges. If you want your treatment to be as undetectable as possible, talk to your dentist about not placing attachments at all or, at least, not on the front four teeth. Be aware, however, that studies show attachments help move teeth more precisely and efficiently, which speeds up your treatment time.
How does Invisalign work?
We’ll contact the Invisalign lab and have them make duplicate trays, which usually takes 2-3 weeks. Although your treatment time will be extended, your teeth will be prevented from moving back to their initial positions. Better Invisalign oral hygiene – Cleaning around metal braces is difficult and can increase the risk of cavities and gum problems.

You can remove them to eat and drink, to brush and floss, or for special occasions. There are no metal brackets or wires that could irritate your mouth or break. When wearing traditional braces, removing food and plaque from around the brackets and at the gumline can be a lot of work. Alternatively, when you have clear aligners, you can simply remove them and practice good oral hygiene the way you always do. Good oral hygiene is vital to the success of your treatment. At a follow-up appointment, your provider will show you an animated visualization of your tooth movement and final result.
